I am a research affiliate with the Family Migration and Early Life Outcomes (FAMELO) project and the First-Generation Student Study. I am also a co-founder and project manager of the Digital Inequality Research Program at the Ohio State University.
I currently have two veins of research. The first investigates how institutions shape identity during the transition to adulthood. The second lies in the realm of Computational Social Science; I analyze novel web-based data sources to test for racial and gender inequality. My work involves a wide range of data sources: surveys, qualitative interviews, and data scraped from the internet.
I am also committed to high-quality instruction. I am certified in Inclusive and Online Teaching by Ohio State’s Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning. My commitment to teaching has been recognized across Ohio State: I am the 2021 recipient of the Department of Sociology’s Outstanding Independent Instructor Award, as well as a 2022 recipient of Ohio State’s Graduate Associate Teaching Award – the university’s highest recognition for Graduate Teaching Associates.
